Cofunds is the UK's leading investment platform. Invest in Unit Trusts and OEICs, switch between funds and view holdings, valuations and correspondence all in one place. Launched in 2001, today Cofunds is the UK's largest platform, responsible for administering £89.3bn of investments (as at 30/06/2017).
Cofunds is what’s called an 'investment platform'. It provides the technology, tools and services to help you manage your investments in one place.
Where can I invest?
You can invest in Unit Trusts and OEICs (Open Ended Investment Companies) and some SICAVs (Luxembourg-based funds) on the Cofunds platform, using Clubfinance as your intermediary.
Cofunds gives you access to over 3,400 individual investment funds from over 210 fund managers.
You can view the range of funds available and access each fund's Key Investor Information Documents (KIID) or Simplified Prospectus together with its reports and accounts online.
How much can I invest?
You can invest from £1,000 per fund as a lump sum or from £100 per month (£50 in an ISA, subject to your annual ISA allowance).
What are the charges?
Most funds on Cofunds now have a 0% initial charge – please check before investing. This applies to both new investments and fund switched. Clubfinance takes no initial, switch or ad hoc fees on any funds held on the platform. The stated initial charges (0% in the vast majority of cases) also apply for switches on the platform. There is no charge to transfer funds on or off the Cofunds platform.
In addition, you pay an annual platform charge to Cofunds which decreases the more you invest, and an annual fee to Clubfinance. The table below shows the charges for each tier.
|Tier||Cofunds annual platform charge||Clubfinance annual fee||Total|
|Over £1 million||0.15%||0.05%||0.20%|
Due to regulatory changes, if you joined Cofunds through Clubfinance after 8 June 2014 you will have been required to convert your holdings to clean share classes. This means Clubfinance no longer receives trail commission on those investments, so you will no longer receive any rebates.
If you joined Cofunds through Clubfinance before the 8 June 2014 the following applies.
For old-style commission-included share class funds, Clubfinance will rebate 75% of its trail commission. Commission-included funds are no longer available to purchase or switch into on Cofunds. In addition, you can only re-register existing commission-included fund holdings onto Cofunds if there is an equivalent commission-free share class available (Cofunds will then automatically convert your holdings to the commission-free fund classes).
If you hold no commission-free funds on Cofunds, 75% of Clubfinance's trail commission will be rebated automatically into your Cofunds Cash Account on a monthly basis.
If you hold at least one commission-free fund on Cofunds, 75% of Clubfinance's trail commission will be rebated as additional units in your largest commission-free fund holding.
The payment of commission (and therefore Clubfinance's rebates) for funds held on a fund supermarket such as Cofunds is both subject to and expected to change in the future, for example due to regulatory requirements.
Please note that outside an ISA or pension account these rebates are subject to income tax.
Please ensure you carefully read and understand these documents before investing, alongside the Clubfinance Terms of Business and Risks and Commitments and the fund's specific Key Investor Information Document and Charges.
